WhatsApp will add AI features (i.e. change photo background)

Yes, WhatsApp will soon add several AI features to follow the trend. How soon? Soon! WhatsApp has a beta program on Google Play. Meaning that you can sign-up for it, and you'll receive the latest beta versions of WhatsApp to try the new features before they get published onto the final version. You'll also get new bugs though, that's the downside.

Keek is back

I reviewed Keek for Android in 2015 when it first launched (wow, can't believe it's been 9 years already). Anyway, the app was launched in 2011 and was available on the appstores until sometime after 2016 - not sure exactly when it went down, but it was probably around 2017. I felt bad, because I liked their idea of short videos - somehow they had the great idea that Tiktok was built on, but way before they launched. Anyway, guess what? I've recently received an email from them saying that Keek is back, and according to their announcement it's better than ever! If you've missed the good old days of short and sweet video sharing, you should definitely try the revamped Keek app.

Duolingo promo codes (September 2024) – the key to free Super subscriptions

If you've ever tried learning a new language in the past 5 years, I'm sure you've heard of Duolingo. This is an app (Android, web and the other) that is meant to be a helpful tool when trying to learn a new language. It helps you by using gamification to keep you focused on your learning goal. Has daily quests, chests, friends that you can connect with, competing leaderboards and much more. In essence, if you want an auxiliary tool to help you learn a new language, Duolingo should be on your list.

Threads from Instagram vs Twitter

Threads is a text-based conversation app developed by Instagram. It allows communities to gather and engage in discussions about various topics of interest. Users can follow and connect with their favorite creators and like-minded individuals who share the same passions. Threads offers a platform to express ideas, opinions, and creativity, enabling users to build a dedicated following and share their content with a wider audience. Threads is currently available both for iOS and Android, but unfortunately if you're from the EU you cannot install it due to privacy concerns. As if Meta doesn't already know anything about you if you're on Facebook or Instagram.

Edit WhatsApp message feature added to Android/iOS

Meta has announced that it is rolling out the ability to edit WhatsApp messages. The ability to edit WhatsApp messages is great, as it will allow you to correct typos, clarify information, or rectify any unintended mistakes within that initial 15-minute timeframe. My only question is why this late, what technological limitations have they encountered to delay its release? I guess we'll never know, but I doubt it was in the users' best interest to delay it, most likely it interfered with something else.

Rebtel App Review: Cheap international calls on Android

Rebtel is an Android/iOS app that allows users to make international calls at cheap prices. Cheaper than you would actually have to pay via your own carrier to call someone in another country. This is probably why it is also quite popular given that Google Play alone shows between 1-5 million downloads (and I reckon it is towards the upper limit) and on their website they mention handling more than 1 billion minutes of calls each year.

Dingless, the app that smothers voice notifications

Facebook Messenger has a distinct “ding” sound notification when someone messages you. I came to realize that all of us are actually under a “Pavlov” effect everytime we hear that sound notification. You can easily try this in a bus/crowded area by observing others when that messaging sound notification comes in, […]

AtHome Camera Review & Download

My first camera surveillance experience

Becoming a parent is unlike anything else you’ve experienced (except if you’re becoming a parent for a second time). If you’re the type that likes to have most risks under management as I am, you’re in for busy times. Anyway, one of the risks for babies is […]
