Google announced this year’s I/O event dedicated to Android developers. The event will take place on May 14 and 15, 2024.
Used to, Google I/O was an event dedicated to Android developers, giving them the opportunity to prepare ahead of time for future changes and network. However, in the most recent editions, the Google I/O event became a place where Google presents news related to its own products.
Google is expected to announce the next version of the Android operating system, with new features and the apps that are part of it.
I’m pretty sure there will be no shortage of hardware announcements, especially those related to the smartphones developed by Google. It is possible that Google will launch the Pixel 8A smartphone at Google I/O 2024, the “budget” version of their flagship Pixel 8 released in 2023.
Nevertheless, you know that there will be a lot of AI talks. Most tech events lately include special emphasis on artificial intelligence, and Google won’t miss this opportunity. They’ve been working intensively to fix the issues with Gemini AI and catch up OpenAI’s advancements, so now’s going to be a perfect re-launch for Gemini AI (the non-pro-woke-DEI-version). Kidding, they’ll most likely mention changes to the Gemini language model and ways in which it will be integrated into its hardware and software products plus how those will help Android developers.
Anyway, if you’re an Android dev, Google I/O is a must-see event. Might be expensive to be there in person, but the best part is there’ll be a lot of online events/webinars so you won’t lose much. If you have the money though, don’t forget to register: Google I/O 2024
P.S. They still have on their official page the puzzle mention: “Twist, turn, and teleport your way to the finish line with our developer community to reveal the I/O 2024 date. #io24puzzle”
